Thursday, November 15: Allison Burnett, PharmD, PhC, CACP and Gail Hammer, CQA, CMQ/OE, University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. We will describe our three-year journey towards meaningful reductions in hospital-acquired patient harm events using data to drive cycles of improvement. We will discuss our ground up approach of empowering frontline staff to develop and drive process improvement; use data and infographics to maintain awareness, focus and continuous improvement; and share how data provides feedback to promote staff engagement and overall sustainable results.
Dr. Burnett received her pharmacy doctorate from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in 2003. In 2004, she completed a general practice pharmacy residency at Boston Medical Center In 2006, she accepted a position at the University of New Mexico Hospital and now serves as coordinator of their Inpatient Antithrombotic Stewardship program. Gail Hammer is a senior member of American Society for Quality with dual certifications: Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Quality Auditor and holds a degree in Behavioral Psychology. She currently serves as Senior Quality Administrator for University of New Mexico’s Health System.
