Being a Quality leader in an organization can be a lonely job.  In the humorous look at the life of a quality champion, David Scrase will discuss both the path to success, and, more importantly, ten wrong turns to avoid.  Including the do’s and don’ts of measurement, the role of the CEO, pitfalls of the use of paper and/or memory as quality tools and more!  If his talk doesn’t make you think and laugh, he promises to give you your money back. 

David R. Scrase, MD, is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and Quality and Safety Officer at UNM Hospital.  He is Board Certified Internist and Geriatrician and has served as the Interim Division Chief for General Internal Medicine and the Chief of Geriatrics as UNM, New Mexico Cabinet Secretaries for the Human Services Department and the Department of Health.  He also provided medical leadership for the state’s COVID-19 pandemic response
