Thursday, May 16: Dan Lanari of the New Mexico Hospital will provide an overview of the various definitions of waste as it relates to daily processes and workflow activities. Lean concepts and applications will be discussed along with some interactive activities that the audience will participate in. The goal of the workshop is to not only give the audience practical ways to incorporate Lean into their workplace, but also give the audience ideas on how to teach Lean concepts to others in the workplace.
Dan Lanari is the Director of Quality & Patient Safety with the New Mexico Hospital Association. Dan’s primary duty with NMHA is serving as the state lead for the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network, which includes the 36 acute care hospitals across the state. This network collaborates of performance improvement initiatives to reduce patient harm. Dan is a licensed Physical Therapist with quality and operations management experience in ambulatory care, home health, and hospital settings. Dan is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, and a Certified Professional in Patient Safety.
