Picking Priority Problems

Thursday, October 17th: Matt Keihl of Universal Technology Company (UTC), LLC. With limited resources and a never-ending supply of issues to address, leaders and continuous improvement practitioners need to be adept at quickly determining which problems, if solved, deliver the best “bang for the buck” for the organization. Using jigsaw puzzles to illustrate the key points and engage participants, this workshop will drive home the need to make project selection a priority and to ensure problems are properly scoped, supported by data, and aligned to key performance metrics and strategic priorities. The group will also explore how incentivizing the workforce at too low a level could drive counterproductive behaviors.

Matt Keihl has over 27 years of experience in program management and continuous process improvement with specific expertise in group facilitation, strategic planning, knowledge management, space operations, foreign military sales, research and development management, and the Air Force Inspection System. A consummate team player, Matt’s versatility, creativity, and enthusiasm enable him to help a wide range of customers achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency and effectiveness. Matt joined the Universal Technology Company (UTC), LLC in February 2018 following a 25-year Air Force career. He currently serves as UTC’s Leadership and Organizational Development Lead and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is Acquisition Professional Development Program level III certified in Program Management and Systems Planning, Research, Development, & Engineering.
