Thursday, November 21: Sam Hatchell, Director of Quality and Leadership Development, Jaynes Corporation. Many of the leadership development programs, books and events bring great information to us, but what do we do with that information when the event, program or book is over? At Jaynes we use those leadership events as a catalyst to 1)identify what the learning opportunity is for the individual, 2)recognize why this learning opportunity is applicable to the individual, 3)create a plan in which the individual applies the learning opportunity and 4)have some way to hold that individual accountable for following through on the plan. This process is a methodology that Jaynes uses in its Leadership Development program that brings about concrete, actionable items for its people. This process has been instrumental in taking the myriad of Leadership Development concepts that are out there and putting them to use at the individual level to bring about transformational leadership.

Native of Albuquerque – Enlisted in US Navy as Electricians Mate in the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program. – Graduated from UNM with a Const. Mgmt degree – Oversee Corporate Quality program and department for Project level quality conformance. – Previous NM Performance Excellence program examiner (2 years) – Involved in Performance Excellence Peer Group with 17 other General Contractors and American’s Contractor Insurance Group (bi-annual meetings) – Facilitate Jaynes Leadership Development program, including 1 year individual employee program, one-on-one coaching for employee and leadership and Annual Leadership Development Plan process – Married to incredible smart and beautiful wife Lisa Hatchell – 2 kind, considerate but very loud boys, Cole (8) and Luke (6) – Love Albuquerque and want to continue to help build amazing leaders for our city.
