Unstructured data makes up as much as 90% of available data for analysis, and can be textual, verbal, audio material or visual material that allows for interpretation and description. These ‘qualitative’ data generate scales which can be quantified in a manner that provides actionable insights for data-driven decision-making. This presentation will discuss how individuals can leverage unstructured text data using applications in text analytics to gain deeper insights.
Biography
Scarlett Marklin is a PhD with a broad educational background spanning Demography, Sociology, Geophysics, and Geography. She has been a computer scientist at Sandia since 2018 and has worked in both the Nuclear Deterrent and Non-Nuclear Deterrent mission space.
